Running is one of the best forms of exercise that you can engage in . It is relatively cheaper than other forms of exercise. You do not need to enrol into a gym or buy heavy and expensive equipment to enjoy running. You can be close to nature as you run. Your only investment for running would be a good pair of running shoes.

Use running shoes only for running. Try not to use them for other activities like tennis, football or hiking.

Keep them in cool dry place. Too humid may cause them to be damp and later develop mold. Too dry may make them flaky and uncomfortable to wear. Once in a while airing under the sun for 30 minutes should be done to kill germs and remove odor.

If they are wet, be sure to dry them thoroughly by placing them near a heat source, for example a heater or a fireplace. Make sure that the insoles are dried too. Shoes must not be worn too tightly. If the right size is chosen it should fit snugly encasing your feet with some space in front of the shoes. Avoid tying the shoes too tightly. The right kind of socks worn are important for your feet as well. If you live in the tropic where the weather is hot and humid all the year around, or during summer time, lightweight, thin, moisture absorbing socks are best. Whereas in cooler weather, thicker and well insulated socks will provide the extra insulation against the cold to your feet.

Your running shoes will have a running life. Replace your shoes when you have run about 400 - 500 miles or every 6 months . Various factors contribute to the soles of the running shoes wearing off. They are: frequency of use, the running surface, your running pattern and habits. Depending on design, some running shoes last longer than others.
